With diagnostics, we investigate what exactly is causing health issues in animals. Animals that are suffering cannot perform optimally. Besides this economic impact, animal welfare plays a very important role; you want to see healthy animals in the stable or in the field. And in addition, healthy animals provide healthy food for us, as humans, and thus it also contributes to our own health.
Two elements of ‘Best practice’ are: proper diagnosis and disease prevention.
Dopharma has been offering diagnostics for autogenous vaccines for some time. To improve this, Dopharma has acquired Ripac-Labor and will continue under the name Dophavacc® for this service. Vaccines work against bacteria and viruses, but there are more types of pathogens. For this, Dopharma has entered into a cooperation agreement with Micron Agritech. They have developed the Micron kit: a diagnostic tool for worm and fluke infections.
