{"id":20277,"date":"2025-12-23T10:06:51","date_gmt":"2025-12-23T09:06:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dopharma.com\/?p=20277"},"modified":"2026-02-11T14:44:29","modified_gmt":"2026-02-11T13:44:29","slug":"belang-vloeibaar-bronchiaal-slijm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dopharma.com\/nl\/technical-support\/belang-vloeibaar-bronchiaal-slijm\/","title":{"rendered":"Bronchiaal slijm als verdedigingsmechanisme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>E\u00e9n van de afweersystemen van het lichaam is de productie van bronchiaal slijm, dat door de slijmbekercellen in de luchtwegen (om preciezer te zijn; de Paneth-cellen van het alveolaire epitheel) wordt uitgescheiden. Dit slijm (mucus) wordt in een constante stroom aangemaakt en door de trilharen (cilia) van het epitheel naar boven gestuwd, met onder andere als doel vuil en ziekteverwekkers uit de luchtwegen af te voeren. Dit afweermechanisme werkt alleen goed als het bronchiaal slijm vloeibaar is.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Diverse omstandigheden kunnen van invloed zijn op het slijm. Zo vertraagt koude lucht de tracheale mucociliaire klaring. Ook wordt de functie van de trilharen negatief be\u00efnvloed door chronische blootstelling aan ammoniak, bijvoorbeeld ten gevolge van het opstallen van dieren en\/of verminderen van de ventilatie in de late herfst\/winter. Door uitscheiding van toxinen en door het fysiek hechten aan de trilharen kunnen ook bacteri\u00eble pathogenen hun negatieve invloed uitoefenen op de werking van dit afweermechanisme.<\/p>\n<h3>Effecten van broomhexine<\/h3>\n<p>Broomhexine is een mucolyticum. Ondanks dat het werkingsmechanisme nog niet geheel duidelijk is, is het klinische resultaat dat de bronchiale uitscheiding van slijm gestimuleerd wordt \u00e9n viscositeit van het slijm afneemt; het slijm wordt dunner en minder taai. Dit maakt het gemakkelijker om op te hoesten.<\/p>\n<p>Ook verhoogt broomhexine de membraanpermeabiliteit in de bronchi\u00ebn, wat tot gevolg heeft dat immunoglobulinen gemakkelijker kunnen toetreden tot het bronchusslijm. Hiermee verleent broomhexine lichte anti-inflammatoire eigenschappen, wat zorgt voor een extra verbeteringsslag van dit natuurlijke afweermechanisme.<\/p>\n<p>Bijkomend voordeel van de werking van broomhexine, is dat het tevens een positief effect kan hebben in combinatie met het gebruik van tetracyclinen. Tetracyclinen vormen een substraat die door onderdelen van een cel (de efflux-transporters) actief naar het celoppervlak gepompt worden. Zo ook naar de alveolaire ruimte en dus in de slijmlaag. Wanneer deze slijmlaag vloeibaar is, kan het antibioticum zich hierin beter verdelen, met een betere werkzaamheid tot gevolg in vergelijking met een taaie slijmlaag. De inzet van broomhexine kan hierdoor bijdragen aan een verantwoord gebruik van antibiotica en aan een sneller herstel van de zieke dieren.<\/p>\n<p>Let wel, dit geldt enkel voor tetracylinen. Andere antibiotica bereiken de alveolaire ruimte niet door actief transport, maar door passieve diffusie. Door een  verscheidenheid aan pathofysiologische factoren bereiken vooral polaire moleculen de alveolaire ruimte daarom in mindere mate.<\/p>\n<h3>Dophexine<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> 20 mg\/g<\/h3>\n<p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Dophexine 20 mg\/g<\/strong> bevat broomhexine in de vorm van broomhexine hydrochloride. Het is oraal toepasbaar bij rund (kalf), varken, kip, kalkoen en eend (niet toegestaan bij vogels die eieren voor humane consumptie produceren, of tijdens danwel binnen 4 weken v\u00f3\u00f3r het begin van de legperiode). Naast de minimale wachttijd (2 dagen voor rund, 0 dagen voor de overige diersoorten) is het goed in water oplosbaar en daardoor gemakkelijk toe te dienen via het drinkwater danwel de kunstmelk.\n\n<br><br>Exclusief voor rund (kalf) heeft Dopharma in Nederland ook <strong>Broomhexine 2%<\/strong> in het assortiment, met een even groot gemak van toedienen en een wachttijd van nul dagen.<\/p>\n<h3>Meer informatie<\/h3>\n<p>Wilt u meer informatie over de toepassing van broomhexine?
