Introducing our new poultry veterinarian: Sylwia Doner

We are pleased to introduce our new colleague, Sylwia Doner, who joined our International Technical Support Team in February as Technical Support Veterinarian Poultry. With a strong background in poultry and a passion for autogenous vaccines, she brings valuable expertise to this role and will support our team and customers worldwide.

Over the past 15 years, she has built extensive experience as a poultry veterinarian in Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands. During this time, she has worked in a variety of roles, both in the field and in experimental research. However, pursuing a career in poultry was not always part of her original plan.

At the beginning, I didn’t see myself becoming a poultry veterinarian. My initial goal was to work as a cattle vet, but that changed completely after my veterinary studies,” Sylwia explains. “Poultry was a field I knew very little about, but my curiosity was sparked. I decided to start a PhD focusing on coccidiosis. After discussing the topic with my professor, I began reading everything I could find about coccidiosis in poultry, and that’s when I became truly fascinated by it. I realized this was a topic I wanted to dedicate myself to.

That moment marked the start of what has now become a long-standing career in poultry health.

Progress is key

Something changes every few years,” Sylwia explains. “Coccidiosis is a good example. In the past, different prophylaxis options were rarely discussed, but after the studies my colleagues and I carried out during my PhD, perspectives began to shift.

For Sylwia, this mindset is essential for improving poultry health. “I always try to focus on solutions, because that’s how progress is made. Every solution, even a small one, helps move the sector forward.

At Dopharma she sees many opportunities to contribute to this progress. “I really value close collaboration with veterinarians, discussing what they see in the field and the challenges they face. Diagnostics and autogenous vaccines can play an important role in that.” For her, the goal is not just to advice the right product, but to deliver the right solution by combining strong products with expert support.

Working together to find solutions

You can contact me with questions about our products, but that is certainly not the only reason to reach out,” Sylwia says. “If you are facing challenges in the field, I’m always happy to discuss them. Whether it concerns day-to-day issues or more complex questions related to products, autogenous vaccines or diagnostics, we can look at them together.

By discussing these situations with veterinarians and customers, she aims to better understand what is happening in the field and how Dopharma can support them. “From there, we can explore how we can help and work together to find the most suitable solution.

Would you like to get in touch with Sylwia or any of the other Technical Support team members? Feel free to reach out! They’re happy to discuss your questions or challenges and explore how we can support you.
