Dophacyl® Avi 1000 mg/g is a new and unique veterinary medicine for chickens. Recently, the approval has been expanded, allowing Dophacyl® Avi 1000 mg/g to now also be used with rearing pullets, up to 2 weeks before the start of the laying period.
Almost a year ago, Dopharma proudly introduced a new and unique veterinary medicinal product for chickens: Dophacyl® Avi 1000 mg/g. However, the use of the active substance sodium salicylate is not permitted in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption. This is recorded in Regulation (EU) 37/2010. At the time of the introduction of Dophacyl® Avi 1000 mg/g, it was also not allowed to use the product in rearing pullets, as insufficient data were available.
We are proud to announce that we have now been able to extend the registration: from now on, Dophacyl® Avi 1000 mg/g may also be used in rearing pullets intended for egg production for human consumption, up to two weeks before the start of the laying period.
The withdrawal period for chickens remains unchanged and short: 2 days for meat and offal.
Dophacyl® Avi 1000 mg/g is the only sodium salicylate product authorized for chickens on the market and also has a very broad indication range. In addition, the reversible inhibition of COX enzymes ensures safe application.
